Fresh off her successful book “A Gronking to Remember,” author Lacey Noonan is looking to appeal to another type of audience. The erotic-fiction writer will soon be releasing a book titled ‘My Lord: The Ford,’ the first book in a trilogy of sexy car-themed novels. The author is no stranger to unorthodox subject-matter, and her latest series of books confirms this sentiment. The writer especially dives into a woman’s relationship with her new SUV and the love triangle surrounding the 2019 Ford Ecosport vs 2019 Chevy Trax. Finally choosing one of these SUVs the pair immediately hit it off, and the narrator finds themselves slowly falling in love with their new ride.
“People describe my novels as erotic, but they’re more about love,” Noonan told The Lemon. “That’s the case with ‘My Lord: The Ford.’ Sure, things might get a bit hot, but I really want my audience to feel immersed in a classic lovers tale.”
That…might be the case with ‘My Lord: The Ford.’ Predictably, the woman falls in love with her Ford EcoSport, and she treats the vehicle as she would any human she’d be in a relationship with. This includes acts like “tire rubs” (which are used as an equivalent to foot rubs) and “hand jobs” (which are used as an equivalent to hand jobs).
Naturally, these scenes raise eyebrows among readers, but Noonan doesn’t believe it’s anything unorthodox.
“These are scenes that people dream about in their daily lives,” the author explained. “In fact, that’s how I came up with the idea in the first place. When I was shopping for a vehicle, I debated the 2019 Ford EcoSport vs 2019 Chevy Trax. However, when I started comparing the vehicles, I found that my comparisons started getting a bit sensual. After being dominated by the 2019 Ford EcoSport multiple times – in my mind, of course – I decided to make that vehicle the basis of my book.”
When asked if she actually owns a 2019 Ford EcoSport, Noonan replied “no comment.”
While the topic of the book causes a bit of controversy, it’s the plot that separates Noonan’s book from your standard automotive erotic novel. In ‘My Lord: The Ford,’ the characters dive into BDSM, and the narrator finds themselves being submissive to their SUV.
Early reviews have called out this plot device, noting that it was already used in the “Fifty Shades” series. Other pundits have pointed out that an inanimate object has no emotional control over a human being.
“I don’t listen to the critics,” Noonan said. “And after all, they’re not right. Humans are absolutely dominated by their vehicles… I know so myself.”
When asked for a second time if she’s sure she doesn’t own a 2019 Ford EcoSport, Noonan gave another “no comment.”
For those interested in the premise of the book, they can actually look forward to an entire series. Noonan acknowledged that she’s aiming for three books, although she’s hoping she won’t be required to come up with ideas for the entire trilogy.
“I’m kind of hoping that HBO picks it up and completes the TV series before I finished the book series,” Noonan explained.
